A Fire TV Stick is the cheapest reliable way to get Cube IPTV onto a television, and it is the device our support team sets up more than any other. The whole process takes under ten minutes. Here is the full walkthrough.
Before you start
You need three things: your Cube IPTV login details, which arrive by email after you order; a Fire TV Stick already connected to your wi-fi; and about ten minutes. If your email has not arrived, check the spam folder before messaging us, because that is where it lands roughly a third of the time.
Step one: allow app installs
The Fire Stick will not install anything outside the Amazon store until you tell it to. From the home screen open Settings, then My Fire TV, then Developer Options, and switch on installs from unknown sources.
If Developer Options is missing, that is normal on newer firmware. Go to Settings, then My Fire TV, then About, highlight your device name and click it seven times. A message appears telling you developer options have been unlocked, and the menu reappears where it should be.
Step two: install Downloader
Search the Amazon app store for Downloader and install it. It is free and it is the tool that fetches the player app for you. Open it once after installing and allow it storage access when asked.
Step three: fetch the player
In Downloader, type the install code we sent with your login. Downloader pulls the file and asks whether you want to install it. Accept, wait for it to finish, then choose Done rather than Open, and delete the installer file when Downloader offers. That last step frees space on a device that does not have much.
Step four: sign in
Open the player from your apps list. It will ask for a server URL, a username and a password, all three of which are in your email. Type them exactly as sent. The single most common support ticket we get is a trailing space copied in with the password, so if the login fails, retype it by hand before assuming anything is wrong.
Once it accepts your details the guide begins downloading. Give it a minute or two the first time. After that it refreshes quietly in the background.
Getting a better picture
Two settings make a real difference on a Fire Stick. Set the video output to match your television rather than leaving it on automatic, which stops the device renegotiating mid-stream. And if you are on a 4K model sitting near the router, use the 5GHz band rather than 2.4GHz.
If the picture still stutters on one channel but not others, that is a server route rather than your hardware. Message us with the channel name and the time, and we will move you.
Moving the stick to another TV
Nothing needs redoing. Unplug it, plug it into the other set, and it reconnects to your wi-fi and your line as before. If you are moving it to a different house with a different network, you will just need to enter the new wi-fi password.
